Ingredients

- Rice
- ½ cup
- Dried yellow split peas (Kala pare)(Garam Dhal), pre-socked in water for about 6 hours
- 50 g Butter or Gee
- 2 pieces Bay leaves
- 2 pieces Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tsp. each Salt & Sugar
- ½ Onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup Green peas ( pour into the boiling water, stir about 1 min & drain)
Preparation
Heat butter in a large pan and fry the chopped onions about 30 sec., then add bay leaves & cinnamon sticks.
Add washed rice, water (twice the amount of rice), yellow peas, salt, sugar and cook it for about 15 mins.
Remove from the heat & mix the hot rice with green peas & cover with lid for about 10 min before serving.
Serve with chicken curry. Serves 6.
